The chart is enriched with decorations and a beautiful profile of the city of Amsterdam from the IJ side. It is the first state based on the earlier issued and smaller chart (50 x 59 cm) Ram put on the market between 1678-1682. Johannes de Ram dedicated this chart to the mayor of Amsterdam, Gerard Bors van Waveren, as can be seen from the dedication in Latin under the coat of arms of the mayor on the right.
The chart has an extremely rare and decorative plan. In the cartouche above the profile, we recognize the god of trade Mercury, accompanied by putty with navigation instruments. Apart from that, a dozen or so little angels fly around the map, all of which help to keep the pictured coats of arms, legends, the city seal and the city coat of arms in place. The map has a very extensive legend.
There are only four known examples of this wall map with the profile of the city of Amsterdam in other collections
